Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Court

Each year the Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Court issues thousands of traffic citations. If you have received a ticket from the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, it will be easily recognizable by the distinct yellow color.

At Traffic Law Central, we have successfully represented hundreds of clients charged with speeding and other traffic offenses by amending their tickets to zero-point, non-moving violations that will not go on their driving records.  We also represent clients charged in the Kansas City Municipal Court with DUI or DWI,  Driving While Suspended or Revoked and other Criminal Charges.

General Information:
Kansas City will amend most
speeding and minor traffic tickets to non-moving violations which are not reported to the Driver’s License Bureau.  If the speed of your ticket is not more than 25 mph over the posted limit, we can handle your ticket and you will not need to go to court. If your ticket is more than 25 mph over the speed limit, we can generally also keep it off of your record by negotiating a plea with the prosecutor. If you receive a ticket and you are under age 21, you may be required to take a one-time “Alive @ 25” class before we can amend your ticket.

Fines and Court Costs:
Kansas City typically charges between $193.50 and $263.50 to amend most
speeding and minor traffic offenses.

Fines can be higher if the ticket occurred in a school or construction zone, or if you have had previous tickets amended in the past 12 months in the Kansas City, MO Municipal Court.

Speeding Ticket Procedures:

The police officer issues you a yellow ticket – it will not have a court date. You will receive a pink notice by mail with your deadline to pay the fine. If you choose to pay the fine, you will be pleading guilty and the ticket will go on your driving record as a conviction. This can affect your insurance rates, employment, or even cause a license suspension. If you do not want to be convicted of this charge, a “not guilty” court date must be requested by you or your attorney who will then go to court and “fix” your ticket! Get your FREE Quote now!
