Before You Pay That Ticket!
If you have been cited in Kansas or Missouri for any traffic violation, you should strongly consider talking with a traffic expert before pleading guilty or mailing in the fine. Why?
- That traffic ticket could result in license suspension — or even jail.
- The next traffic violation might push you into suspension.
- Nearly all violations can be amended to a lesser offense.

- Driving while license suspended or revoked
Why Not Just Pay the Ticket?
Depending on the severity of the offense and your prior driving record, even a speeding ticket could result in administrative license suspension. In Kansas, three serious traffic offenses in a five-year period can result in a three-year revocation as a "habitual violator." Missouri uses a "points" system — accumulate too many points and you will be suspended from 30 days to 1 year. Paying the fine could also raise your insurance rates. Remember, pleading NO CONTEST is the same as pleading guilty. Lastly, certain offenses will leave you with a misdemeanor criminal record preventing employment opportunities.
Mr. Bukaty works to convince the prosecutor to amend your ticket to a non-point, non-moving infraction. Some courts may require younger drivers to attend a “traffic school” before a ticket can be amended — a small price to pay to keep the ticket off your record. We can handle most minor violations without you needing to appear in court. (We can often handle the entire matter by phone and mail.) A major traffic offense, of course, will require you to appear before a judge, and we will be there to represent you.
