We represent drivers in the Greater Kansas City area (Kansas and Missouri) who are facing serious traffic charges or administrative license suspensions. We've helped many clients stay out of jail, keep their license or get their driving privileges back.

Driving While License Suspended or Revoked

The potential consequences are swift and severe for driving while suspended (DWS) or revoked (DWR),

  • In Kansas, it is a jailable offense, and your license can be suspended for an additional 90 days or more with no hardship license.
  • In Missouri, the state will suspend your license for 12 months even on a first offense and you can go to jail.

Anthony Bukaty is a skilled and experienced criminal and traffic defense lawyer. He will investigate your driving record and determine the reason for the suspension then fight to get the DWS ticket amended to a lesser charge so new points or suspensions do not occur. He has even prevented many clients with repeat DWS convictions from going to jail by persuading judges to give probation instead.

Suspension for Excessive Violations/Excessive Points

Kansas labels as a "habitual violator" anyone who is convicted of, or pleads guilty to, three serious traffic offenses in a five-year period. This means a three-year license revocation with no hardship license. Serious violations can include:

  • DUI/DWI (even diversions)
  • Driving while suspended or revoked
  • Reckless driving
  • No proof of insurance
  • Eluding a police officer
  • Some serious auto accidents

Missouri operates on a point system. Whether you received a basic speeding ticket or a citation for Driving While Suspended, if that ticket pushes you over the limit you can lose your driving privileges:

  • Eight points in 18 months will result in a 30-day suspension or longer.
  • 12 points in a 12-month period will trigger a one-year revocation.

So you see the importance of challenging any traffic offense — the next one could be one too many. Traffic Law Central works to get these offenses amended to a lesser charge to avoid the suspension of your driving privileges. Also, we will work to see that your fines and court costs are absolutely as low as possible.

If you are facing criminal sanctions for driving while your license is suspended or risk license revocation because of one ticket too many, call Traffic Law Central today at 913-708-8194 (Kansas) or 816-841-2557 (Missouri) to discuss your case in a FREE, initial confidential consultation. Evening and Weekend appointments are available.
